UO Second Age

As the title says, I am new to ultima online. A friend of mine played this before and directed me to this site. I have it downloaded and my account created, but I was just wondering if anybody would be willing help a newb out. I understand this is a "sandbox" mmo and I'm very interested in getting into it.

If I had money and skills I would help you out.

But what the hell is a sandbox mmo?

A sandbox mmo would means its a game without restrictions like classes and levels. Everybody can pretty much do what they want. That's the best way I can explain it.

Argos, I think you'll enjoy it here. Your best bet for quick communication with the player base is through IRC, so many people lurk around in the channel (myself included), most people are very willing to help out new players.

Setup a character to be your bard...

Macro up provocation, musicianship, hiding, and magery (Magery only need to be at the point where you can recall successfully)

Go farm dragons, and forge your UO empire as YOU desire it...

While you're macroing, if you're anxious to find out about the world...I suggest making an explorer and investing in a horse or two...

Better yet, just make a character with 50 taming, and run around...will be cheaper on the horse fees in the long run.

3. read through some guides on the shard website, very useful and well written

4. join the shard mIRC channel to get instant help [most players will help you out there]

5. got any questions? just ask here

Try to join a guild also they can help you a lot and you can easily make some friends.

People will help you out everywhere that are some nice people here but people that are being dumb just ignore them
