For the love of Baby Jesus, Please follow these simple rules:
Treasure Hunter: Destroy your stupid chest when you are done.
Dungeon Lockpicker: Dry loot the stupid chest. YES THEY DO RESPAWN 10 X FASTER if it's empty.
PvMer: I know you care about the 200GP on your stupid lich but trust us, we don't care at all. Stop revealing us when we are looting our chest. We won't loot your crap.
When you reveal me i will ninja loot all your monster and wont stop until you cry Unicorn tear that taste like rainbow.
Bonus:

I never destroy or dry loot my chests when I'm out doing a T-map. One less available spot out there means less gold in someone elses pockets.

It also means less in your pocket. You could be getting multiples of the same chest in a single session.

I've ALWAYS destroyed my chests from tmaps after I read a post of someone requesting it. But most library runes that I have used were marked adjacent to where the chest is. So it normally wouldn't block someone recalling in, only being dug up. In which case, all you gotta do is destroy the existing one and dig yours. If the chests are blocking your recall, I suggest using another run library or if it is your own library, mark on the tile next to the chest.
Though I don't often lockpick in dungeons, when I do, I commonly see unlooted unlocked chests where there should be a locked one. Never thought about them not being dry looted having an effect on when it respawns (though I usually dry loot it anyway). Ill make sure I do from now on.

Can't destroy a tmap chest that isn't yours.
