UO Second Age

First one, I understand what your suppose to tame at what taming level. I am 86.1 right now taming hell hounds, I got this random burst of .5 gains then have not gained a single thing for awhile now. My question is does gaining taming go off of failures in general or is it creature specific?

Like if I tame a Hell Hound and get two failures, is it the same as getting two failures on a Great Hart? It is very weird, I have like 6 Hell Hounds im macroing off of and am stuck at 86.1 it seems. I just don't understand how it works.

Ok hope that one made sense, my second question is how much gold will it take to GM magery & Resist going off the following:

55-60 : Cast Lightning (1 sulfurous ash, 1 mandrake root)
60-82 : Cast Energy Bolt (1 black pearl, 1 nightshade)
82-100 : Cast Flamestrike (1 spiders' silk, 1 sulfurous ash)


I just want a idea so I know if I should hold off on buying a two story house right now or not.

On the Taming gain. You will find that a lot. Epically when you get closer to 90 and even worse when you get near 100.
I think the reason behind the rapid gains then the horribly slow gains is that your "shown" skill is roughly a little higher than your "show real" skill. Meaning That sometimes you may be gaining .1 for your skill but since your "Shown" is still higher it will not notify you.

I realized this when Seeing Provocation going down .1 but my taming did not increase .1 (which was the only thing i was doing at the time.)

On the Gm Margery Resist thing. I am not sure but I know its more than 50k

i just ebolt from 50-82. maybe i'm lazy but it seems like you gain the same and spend just as much as if you were to do lightning.
