Please make a panel that we can place spells on so they won't move every time they are double clicked.

Thank you!

Use hotkeys.

We cannot edit the client code. Even if we could, it would no longer be era accurate.

Wanting a similar solution, I once Googled if this could be done somehow.

I understood that some shard had actually added an in-game item that when opened, popped up a tray on the interface. On to this tray you could then drag spell icons and they wouldn't move, unless you moved the entire tray.

This relatively simple method of enhancing the gaming experience and not affecting the game world, would of course not be era accurate, unlike the silver system for example.

It would be feasible to create a custom gump in response to a command (wouldn't have to do an item), but of course it's not era accurate. Hotkeys are your friend ;)

Who wants spells popping up every time you push a button? I reserve a lot of spells for outside of hotkeys, spells that arent used as often but are still used. I have a recall macro to recall out of dungeons for example, but i dont make a macro to cast recall without double clicking. I just use the number pad without macros on for my macros. And why make a resurrection macro unless you use it all the time in the team? Just some examples of why I dont hotkey every spell for every situation. Because I know way too many people who say "i ban thee" "bank" "guards" " or "insert spell here" while they are typing.

It's a bit silly to expect Derrick to code you a workaround to a problem you've created for yourself out of stubbornness, no? They only move while you cast them if you click and drag. So improve your mouse handling if you refuse to use macros.

I agree with you that some spells aren't used often enough to require an (efficient) macro. So I made some inefficient ones. My resurrect macro is ctrl+alt+q. Odds of me hitting that while normally typing are zero, and it's one less icon I need cluttering up my screen.

Yeah it is. It would be pretty simple to code though. :P

I don't understand the request. I have a group of spell icons that I don't need hotkeys for, so I click them. They don't move. They just sit there, I double click them, the spell is cast and they remain in the same spot. I don't understand what you mean by them moving when you click.

This.

I have about 8 spells I click. They never move. You definitely need to work on your mouse handling.

Dear smart86,

Please Stop Mouse Mashing!
Save The Mouses!

In all seriousness, though, you can probably get the snap-to function from some of the other clients, but you'd have to edit those clients for UOSA's .muls, etc...

As far as it being easy to code...completely irrelevant as its not Era-Accurate.

Please add on a custom webcam interface that will allow me to chat with older men while I play.

Thanks in advance.

Haha chum, you perv, you can run chat roullette on a separate screen :P

Honestly, I have spell icons still up and relatively unmoved from when I dragged them from my spellbook over a year ago. Sure every so often I've got to drag them around a few pixels in any direction to suit my OCD, but really, it's mild OCD so a few gaps between the spell icons doesn't drive me crazy.

Take note of the many screenshots posted where players have a similar arrangement of spell tiles around their gameplay window. In fact, I prefer it this way, considering that I group the tiles around my gameplay window based on what they are.
IE: I have Tele, Recall, Mark, Gate all together, then a grouping of Bless, Strength, etc etc, then a grouping of offensive spells, etc.

As much as I wouldn't care if such a thing were added, because I'd likely never use it, it is not era accurate and as such, you won't see it here unless you craft (code) it yourself.

Cant you just copy that desktop file for every char? It will save your stupid spell gump thingers.

Or use hotkeys like the good players.

Yeah, I think you can just save the desktop file as a backup for when you make a mess of things.

HAI FAILIX, GOT ANY MAKEUP TIPS?
