UO Second Age

Hi everyone,

I was googling UO freeshard and chanced upon this server, and am tempted to play UO again. Just a couple of quick questions pls. May I how is the population over here? And also if its still possible to find a spot to place a house right now? Housing is an important aspect of UO IMO, so Im concerned whether a server which has been running for 2-3 years already will still have a spot for placing house right now.

There are players around, but since we're talking about a few hundred it's not going to be like downtown Shanghai. Your best bet to "socializing" is join a guild that is active or, if you want to witness some gameplay talk and an incredible amount of non-UO related crap, join the #secondage channel on WildIRC IRC network.

As for the housing, there are plenty of spots left for small houses and occasionally for larger homes, too. However, larger houses can be purchased from other players very cheap, generally between 10-60k in addition to the deed price, so you might eventually just want to pay a little extra than spend hours searching for a house spot. Just make sure you use a reputable broker when doing a transaction to prevent yourself from getting scammed.

i would definitely recommend it. Me and a friend started not to long ago and we have had the most fun on our UO lifes. PLenty of house spots.

Plenty of small house spots... you want a larger house you might have to do some camping at an IDOC with a small and block placement. All the big players already know Cove N Peninsula tower and brick condemned status. Get yourself a small there and block the placement of the larger house or sell your small for premium; Deed+25, Deed+Deed. If you know the player and how much they are worth you can get more. Inversely, that's how my house prices work. Desirability of the land/house size determines cost. I couldn't sell a L shape a whole week going for deed + 10; on the border of the bog of desolation. Compared to a patio I sold in the right location for deed+deed. There is a whole market here for housing. If you are smart you can make money. The condemned tower, replaced, would be worth deed+deed.

#2 Dont cry when you get hurt. If you are hitting the dirt often use the search function on the forums and search for simple queries such as "how to escape", "magic trap macro", "how to pvp". If you jump on the IRC dont expect people to be helpful. Throughout the day different forms of intellectual banter goes back and forth.

There are enough people around that no matter where you hide, there's a chance someone will find you. Lots and lots of places for smalls, and maybe even bigger, but it doesn't matter, since you can buy houses at a really small markup. Very affordable.

I just came here myself, and I have to say I am impressed. Very nostalgic. If you want to play t2a the way it really was and not some trammy modded t2a like other places, you have found your home.

As far as pop goes I see an avg of 400 every day with a peak at nearly 700 so far this week http://www.uosecondage.com/Stats is where you can see the number of clients online throughout the week.

Dunno about housing yet as I don't got the cheeze yet to get a deed. ^.^

Skill gain is at a tolerable level, not too slow, and not too fast. It's all about what era of uo you like though. If you like t2a, you will like this shard.
