i apologize for coming off like an asshole saying this, but is it really that hard to experiment yourself and find out the answer?

maybe i'm missing something but i don't see the benefit of this with how easily you can already macro magery out of the bank with a simple restock agent, or cast on yourself in a house with an alt healer. if you're having trouble macroing magery i'd be more than willing to help you out and answer any questions you have over irc.

tested this out for you using 26 black pearl and casting fireball on a char with ~37 magery.

casting on my spellbook produced gains.

casting on a blank rune gave no gains, just wasted regs/mana.

casting on the crystal ball in the east mage shop by vesper bank produced gains.

you owe me 26 black pearl, 2 recall scrolls, and 3 minutes of my life back, cheers

Blank runes work for gains, your experiment was a failure!!
