UO Second Age

I have a question about armor - What are the penalties for wearing different armors. My husband has decided to build a mage and would like to know what kind (if any) armor he can/should wear, and I am going to be working on a Fencer. We play mostly PvM but would like to be able to defend PvP should we need to.

You can meditate in leather, but it will reduce your regen rates. I generally wear a suit of leather on my bard since I don't use mana all that much, and the extra RA paired up with reactive armor provides quality protection in PVM

for your fencer pvm i prefer bone armour and magic studded leather
or if you are confident in your ability to escape pkers or not dieing to mobs id go heavy archer suit
