UO Second Age

i am trying to do this with my archer by pulling them to my house, from what i have have been told is that they heal themselves. my question is do they still do this because it does not seem to be working for me

I did the same about a year ago and the guards did not heal themselves. I had to use another character to keep them healed.

They did self-heal at some time previous to that, but it seems it was patched out at some point.
