There were no horses in the wild during t2a, except in lost lands and they were very rare.

Ostards and Llamas were in T2A exclusively, horses were not rare, and did spawn in Britannia.

i distinctively remember searching the forests for horses to sell at WBB

Horses did not spawn in the old lands ... T2A only ... Ostards and ridable llamas also.

Maybe you didn't see any because with thousands of payers and a low taming requirement they were snatched up.

Nope there were none. Its not that I didnt see them because I remember one of my first days playing (I started at the same time t2a was released in fact) I called a counsiler and asked him where to find horses and he told me that there werent any in the wild. And he was right, I only called him after searching forever. During t2a there were no horses in the wild in the regular lands.

Horses were in Britannia forever.

Well, that's your problem right there... you were on the wrong shard!

One of the things that made the release of T2A special was the fact that you could tame ridables. Before that, there was no where to tame them. Horses were purely from the stables.

Does anyone have any information on when they did begin appearing in the wild?

I am fairly sure they spawned in the wild in T2A because I use to get my horses there.

I never saw a horse in the wild otherwise and I played till just after trammel release.

im positive they were added in the wild VERY shortly after the t2a release. i played on chesapeake and that was one of the ways i earned money when i was a noob, selling horses at brit bank. I would tame them from the area between the brit Xroads, and the town itself, and also up by despise/wind area. I started playing the game about 2 weeks after the t2a release, and this was the first way i started to earn money. 110% positive.

Pack horses never spawned, but ridable ones were definatly on chesapeake in early t2a

i used to buy all my hroses from players at the bank, doubt they would be buying them at higher prices and selling for less

odds are they were taming them
