I think the 1v1 events take too long. With 33 people playing, some players don't go for 15, maybe 20 minutes. I think cutting the timer down to 5 minutes would be something to consider.

for the 2 v 2 maybe keep that at 20 minutes, or maybe shorten that time to 10 minutes max? those events tend to take a shorter period of time in general.

Currently the Sudden Death timer is a multiple of the team size. So it could be 5 mins for 1v1, 10 mins for 2v2, 15 mins for 3v3

This is an easy change; if there's a consensus on it I'd be happy to implement this immediately.

Sudden death really only finishes matches for people who are not very good at dueling (1v1 speaking). 5 minutes would definitely speed up tourneys.

Should make this a voting poll. This is entirely up to the players who participate in the Tourney.

tourneys are already pretty bs as it is...5 minutes would suck, every match would go to sudden death which can go either way everytime

5 minutes really isn't that long, sudden death is a complete bitch, no matter how good you are you have to admit that its bullshit

i'd much rather watch a 5 minutes good fight that ends in sudden death than a 10 minute good fight that ends in sudden death because there are many fights that need to happen. What will happen if there are 50+ people in a tournament?

you can generally tell if a fight will go into sudden death within the first 2-3 minutes of the fight, if somebody hasn't won already.

I think 5 minutes is way too short. The way pvp is here killing anyone whos not retarded takes a long string of good damages, harm interrupts, and hally hits. I just dont think 5 mins is long enough to give fights a chance to finish. As it is right now half the fights go into sudden death.

If you shorten it to 5 mins 4 out of 5 fights are gonna end in sudden death, and the only ones that dont are gonna be the newbies dying in the first couple rounds. Sounds kinda lame to me.

10 mins is just about perfect imo.

As it is there are plenty people who run around casting greater heal for the whole duel hoping they can get lucky in sudden death. All reducing the timer will do is help these people. I think one of the main problems is unlimited equipment. Perhaps limiting regs would be better than sudden death.

The only sensible solution is to either remove pre casting greater heal, which means people who hold greater heal and equip weapons. This would not include people holding greater heal by itself. The other sensible solution is to add limited regs. It is pretty pathetic that some people will prep heal the entire fight just to hope for a lucky outcome in sudden death.

reasoning: i've seen plenty of matches where a guy would be prison molesting another dude (i mean, the other guy is literally trying to get out of the tourney cell) for the entire round. by the curse of poor luck, he just hits some terrible damage rolls and the other guy is semi-capable of healing himself so he manages to survive until sudden death and win. i think it's bs, but at least those 10 minutes allowed the dominant male to prove his dominance or lack thereof

I have never seen this happen once, nor do I expect it to happen, the players would give them a hard enough time afterwards that they wouldn't. Changing to 5 minutes is just a bad idea in general, I compleletly disgaree with sudden death, I'll copy from my other topic how it works:

sudden death must be the biggest bs i have seen in any game "SUDDEN DEATH NO MORE HEALING"

1: "ah my gawd my ebolt only hit for 8%!!"
2: "MINE DID 40 LOL!!!1"

i think tourneys have really gone to complete shit since the new pvp patches, they used to be fun as hell...maybe we are still trying to hold on to something that is already lost forever?

EDIT: WTF? 5 minutes is winnign!? If this happens I can gurantee I and many other pvpers will stop doing tournaments until this is reverted when everyone realises how retarded of an idea this is.
