Excellent article. He makes some phenomenal points. Anybody know the truth behind the usa's commonly repeated "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?" The theories that mantra was based on is actually "life, liberty, and land ownership".

The reason I point that out is because, as the article points out, if you are vested in the land you will be more likely to stay.

Also, the community is full of hardened veterans who all work together to make the game fun for everyone
Doesn't he know cA is trying to ruin this game and besmirch people who provide tangible benefit!?

False! cA provides a wonderful house cleaning service. Also, their free, no obligation, home security inspection is second to none!

The phrase "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" was more-or-less lifted from John Locke's Two Treatises of Government, where he used the wording "life, liberty and estate." Locke was using "estate" in reference to all personal property, Jefferson likely changed it to "the pursuit of happiness" to emphasize the non-land connotations of the phrase.

Totally agree on your point though, the feeling of living somewhere in this game gives the player a much stronger connection to the community and game world. Not to mention the need for players to log-in to maintain their property.
