Is fame/karma leeching activated here?

If I'm partied with another member and close to the monster, and its killed, will I gain karma/fame, or is that not during t2a..?

i think you have to have the kill shot to get any sort of fame/karma.
i know when i provo liches, i get no fame or karma, since the lich is the one who gets the killing blow.
