Disconnection from UO as a CPU stress test?

Whenever I get disconnected from UO, my CPU usage skyrockets to 100% and my T-junction temps jump towards the max. This is proportional to how many clients I am running. In this case I am running 4. This happens precisely when the “connection lost” message pops up.
Has anyone else come across a similar issue?
I am running Vista 64x on an Intel Q9300 paired with a Gigabyte mobo.

Yeah, this happens to me too. The client peaks CPU usage in the login screen.

Alright then, it isn't just me!
Any ideas on how to 'kill' the client after a disconnect?
My main concern is macroing. My machine has proven stable, im just not comfortable with these warm temps while im not infront of it.
I guess i could macro with less then four clients. But, who actually does that?! hah

That’s interesting; I’m running 4 right now. It doesn't let me run 5 though.
If one wanted to run more then limit, all they would probably have to do is set up a few virtual IPs. Although, I'd imagine their machine is gonna take some abuse, esspecially if they loose connection =)

That may be true for a short period of time, but we routinely monitor the number of accounts people have. It's highly recommended to keep it at 3, the three we choose may not be the same as the three that you would would when we do find that extra accounts are knowingly created.

Are you referring to the number accounts one can create or the number of accounts one can be simultaneously connected to?

The number of accounts each person may have is 3, it's a rule not a technical limit.
The technical limit that is imposed is that only 3 accounts may be auto created from a single IP address, but we will usually make additional accounts for additional members of a household.
There is also the 4 connection per IP limit, which is a hard limit designed to impede the ability for people to violate the 3 account limit to some extent, but it is unfortunately somewhat harmful to those who do have real multiple people playing from the same location.

The 4 connected per IP limit is what I would have been referring to. I build characters for my friends, hence why I’m using 4 clients at a time.
Why not some kind of MAC filter for account creation?
