UO Second Age

Where are all the animals? There are more random NPC's in the cages then animals. What gives. Is this a T2A era? I never went to the zoo back in the day so I have no idea if thats the way it was. Prolly a stupid question.

I used the zoo to macro my bard...there were usually animals but quite often people would come through and kill all the animals off to upset the macros of those who were afk.
