the template on the wiki site suggests these skills.
i need help with choosing between these 3 for my final skill. (Hiding/Resisting Spells/Evaluating Intelligence)
i really like hiding personally because it costs nothing, is easy to train and is very useful, but resisting spells and eval. int. are great alongside magery.
i feel that if i didnt have eval. intelligence my damage spells would be too weak, and if i didnt have resist spells that i would die too easily.
thank you for any advice!

My treasure hunter:
Magery
Meditation
Cartography
Lockpicking
Music
Provo
Hiding
I have never YET wished I had resist or wrestling. I have said to myself, "man, spells do sh!t damage without Eval Int.", but I wasn't about to trade it for hiding. I have only done up to level 4 (by myself) and even then, didn't need those other skills. With provo you can get mobs to kill each other quickly and whatever is left over can be killed quickly by an EV.
Good luck!

Listen to this man. I could not have said it better myself, except for the fact I've done tons of lvl 5's solo with this template and have never missed eval or resist.

I personally went with peacemaking as the final skill.
I would love resist, eval or hiding (especially hiding) but peacemaking has saved my life many, many, many, many times. Provocation locks down 2 monsters, peacemaking locks down the whole screen for about 2.5 seconds and can be spammed at 100% success rate. If you have to pick between resist/eval/hiding, though, go for hiding. Eval is useless when you can use other mobs/summons to kill monsters and if you need resist, you're doing it wrong.
My two cents. I may actually drop peacemaking for hiding one of these days, though.

PICK ON DEGAMRA!
Degamra wrote:Provocation locks down 2 monsters...
With Provo and hiding, you immediately provo 2, then you get like 8 or 9 tiles away from the rest and can instantly hide while Provo is on cool down. After that initial spawn, it isn't tough at all. I personally don't see the point in peace making.
Edit... maybe not EXACTLY that easy

I can't remember but hiding may be on cool down as well... I still like hiding over peace making! Getting out of range of the mobs isn't difficult!

Yea, I used this template but w eval instead of hiding. Either way is good. I just keep a high charged invis hat on my T mapper, which lasts a while considering I typicall only use it on the first spawn on lvl5. Invis items also have the benefit of not failing with the spawn being too close.
Eval is most useful on lvl3 and 4 maps IMO.

Just remember, to pick lvl 5 chests, you need gm lockpicking which will take you several months to gm, or you will need 95 lockpicking real skill and at least 60 detect hidden.

Provoke
Mage
Med 80
Resist 80
Eval 40
Why would you want hiding? Invisible works right? Low eval on spawn does its job
Med 80 with a mage hat on regenerates fast trust me.

Just use two clients. One a normal bard you can farm with and the other a stealth lock picker with detect. Your bard will always be 8ish tiles away from the chest and mounted and invisible when the chest is dug up. It’s just a lot more forgiving. You lag or cat jumps on your keyboard when 2 balrons spawn it’s no big deal. Best yet you have 2 toons to carry all the loot and don’t have to make 2 trips to the chest or worry about someone snagging your loot bag if you were planning to gate it out once the chest is dry. It maybe takes an extra minute to use 2 clients. You can then use the bard to farm with and the bard will not be a gimp. If you plan on spending the majority of your time online thunting it might make sense to make a dedicated thunter other than that I just think it’s a waste of time given the other advantages of 2 clients.
