I don't want to. I want to use light IRC, so I'll wait till it's fixed. But somebody needs to report the problem.

This has been happening on and off for a couple of years now. Sometimes it breaks for quite a while.
You're really better off using another IRC client if you don't want long term frustrations.

i installed mIrc.
its ugly. reminds me of what the internet looked like when UO was still a popular online game.

You might try Mibbit as a browser based alternative to Light IRC. It never goes down, and it isn't ugly or inconvenient.
