UO Second Age

Hi, nice to be here. I've been very interested in playing UO for quite a while, but only recently found all the required bits & pieces, courtesy of this site (thanks). Thing is, now I find myself asking the ultimate newbie question. Where do I start? The last time I played Ultima was Pagan. Is there anywhere I can go/anyone I should go to in order to get an idea of the basics? Thanks in advance.

Where you start depends on what you want to do. Moongate travel is extremely easy anyways. What are you interested in?

To make it totally clear, it would be easiest to say - I have no idea how to play this game, except in the matter of movement. I know how to make my character move.


I started in Skara Brae, if that helps. Also, on another note, I've been running around trying to figure out what's going on, and I don't think I've seen any online players yet...am I being stupid here? Have I done something unutterably dumb and messed it up?

I wouldn't know where to start to explain you this game.
Try to find the NEW guild or another player in the game and ask what you want to know.

There is really too much to explain .

Find an active guild quick then. Talking to you on the forum is going to help very little for the basics. You need someone in game to show you the basics.

I don't think I've seen a single real player yet. Just loads of NPC's.

Not blowing off your questions either. Just saying, you will need hands on practice to learn how to actually play the game. Any other simple questions we can answer though.

Thanks for trying to answer my impatient questions, guys! I should've just waited a while longer and poked around the game world a bit. I'm already starting to understand things a whole lot better. I even crafted a helm! Yay!
