scam would imply that someone would be trying to get the gold and keep the item.

grief would be dropping it on purpose after selling it.

risk would be buying one like mine where you dont know which house it is tied to...which wouldnt be a scam either.

idk, i think not letting someone know that the item has the potential to disappear, is pretty scam-ish,
especially if that were the reason for selling it
