Recall w/o Magery

I'd like to have a pure warrior with no magery, but still be able to recall with a scroll WITHOUT having to try more than 20 times. Anyone out there know how horrid it is to recall with a scroll with NO magery?

I have a char with zero magery and uses recall scrolls, granted you fail, which is expected but its not that bad, dont rely on it in sticky situations where you need it to work tho

I do like the idea of having GM Magery with my warrior but, I dont have room for med so it would probably never be GM HAHA. The hole, "sticky situations" part really keeps me leaning towards magery no matter if it ever gets to GM or not.
Thx for the replies.

if you only want magery to recall, you really only need about 60, and you dont need medi or evaulate int.

And, what, 20/30 to use scrolls without fizzling? i.e. 300 gold worth of training from a vendor, no skill use required. Having 0 magery may not be the best idea, but you definitely don't need a substantial amount of points in it.

My thief has 20 base/real magery, I fizzle maybe 25% of the time with a scroll

Well if you choose to have 40 Magery on your warrior, you will have 60 skill points left over. Probably the most useful skill at 60 skill is tracking so I suggest you get 60 Tracking and 40 Magery on your warrior friend. What is your template that you don't have room for magery?

GM Swordsmanship
GM Tactics
GM Anatomy
GM Resist
GM Healing
79 Hiding
40 Magery
Its not that I dont have room for it, its more or less that I stupidly worked all the easy skills first on this char, and I definetly don't feel like adjusting stats to gm magery lol

That laziness may come back to eat you in the long run. I try to keep my 'tips' to myself for the most part but if I were you I'd go the extra mile, flip flop stats to get intelligence (assuming you're at 700 skill cap) drop anatomy for meditation and work up magery. Then re-macro anatomy since it's easy to macro.

100 Anatomy
100 Resist
70 Hiding
70 Tracking
30 Magery
30 Poisoning

In regards to this, do you think it would be better to have the 60 tracking 40 magery or 100 parry? I have been using parry but never really noticed what benefits it gives. My current skills are:
Gm mace
Gm tac
Gm anat
gm hiding
Gm healing
50 resist - will GM
37 magery
62 parry
would it be beneficial to drop the parry, pick up tracking and just use q staffs and a war hammer?

Yes if your a macer drop parry, This is because the q staff is 2 handed and its the best weapon for a dexxer/macer to use. Well thats what I would do, and plus tracking is more useful than you think, after you have it you will really realize how effective it is to find hiders ect.

What the heck do you do with 30 poisoning?

Not so much anymore. I use to just keep applying lesser poison in battle because if you're fighting townies, they will run out of cures soon enough and then its a full 30 seconds for them to heal (unless of course I poison them again, which generally I would)
Now now, 30 poisoning/4 = not such a good chance to have a poison strike
