So about keys and runes on houses' front steps.....

Would anyone care to share how you do that neat little trick? Can't lock anything down on your steps, can't secure anything on your steps, so how is it done?
It seems like a useful thing to know how to do.

You can lockdown/secure on your steps, as long as the items are 2 tiles away from the door. So you cant do it on small houses, but castles/keeps ect, you can. The reason you see it on small houses is because you used to be able to, then the rules changed and those items already locked/secured are grandfathered in.
