I've become rather fed up with the abusive, crude, malicious and completely unchecked behavior in the #secondage IRC channel. You never see me complain much because I know it will only make it worse. Rather than try to change people there, I have decided to make a new channel with some basic rules of conduct, enforced with an iron fist.

The Chill Room Rules
I may add more rules as things develop, but basically don't be a jerk. You don't have to be nice all the time, but please keep your banter in check.


1. No bigotry, racism or misogyny.
2. No personal attacks.
3. No politics.
4. No harassment.
5. No trolling.


More rules to come as needed...

Enforcement
Break any rules and you will be warned once. After that you will be banned permanently, no exceptions, no appeals. If you break the rules on purpose to troll us, you will be banned with no warning. I will scan IRC logs from time to time and ban people accordingly. We will keep a Google doc of people who has been warned.

Ops
People I know who are chill will get Ops. Don't ask for ops, you won't get it.

You've never asked me to change your forum name, feel free to forum pm me the details.

You seem super paranoid. GMs ignore no one, and you pre-banned me from your channel because you "know me".

I replied to this but I realize now that it will just make things worse. Nevermind.

Ok I had to re-learn some channel operator commands. People should be able to join now.

I never understood why people go into irc and just hang there n watch the mega nerds hate on each other.
I think in my 5+ years on this server I've been in irc a total of 10 times.
This is a nice idea and I hope it works out for you, but I just have to say this:
To the people who go in irc to "hang out" and then get surprised by a bunch of Virgins bitching at each other, wake up. Don't be such a fucking nerd and actually talk to people around your area and make REAL friends instead of fucking being mega dweebs and then crying about how it isn't candy land.

Lei meyanaganag deserves it, so does pakmanwakka and co.
Mostly my forum wars are just boredom posts. Rarely do I talk shit.
But yea, its still a lot different then irc where its just constant retarded remarks back and forth between nerds.

There was a time when the back and forth, no matter how nasty it got, was hilarious. Anyone who watched Horus and Guerrilla go at it for 2 hours straight over Edomites and whatnot, went out to dinner, saw a movie, bought a case of beer, and came home 4 hours later to see them still going at it, can back me up. There was art happening. Nowadays, the stuff that goes on is infantile and clocks in way on the left side of the bell curve. There are a few provocateurs who still have potential, but the targets are soft and ignorant. Not hating on anyone; just saying. I think Kara_'s idea is awesome and I hope it works.

And all we have to do to get our forum name changed is PM a GM?

Very laid back (You will probably get kicked in good fun) and nobody ever gets banned for long? haha
