Dock duels have had a long history here on UOSA. Back when the docks belonged to Turtle Bay all the way until the pirates took it over. Based on the current dueling activity, the Captain is asking for some enhancements to benefit the dueling community! Often times we get a large turn out for duels and many times have to wait before being able to participate. Duels have spread to the grass and the tower to help with the wait time. I propose two enhancements:

1) an Ankh or red healer

2) an expansion of a new dock connected to the existing. Both will help speed up the dueling experience with faster rezzing (currently we have to drag a healer over), and allow multiple duels to take place at the same time. Having both docks next to each other will also help support player run tournaments as the process is sped up and spectators can watch multiple fights at the same time.

In no way should these enhancements be given away for free! The standard voting by the community, resource gathering, possible quests, etc. would recommended! This is not a "town add on" but more of a community addition since many different parties all live around the area.

I was going to post that Turtle Bay needed an expansion in a different thread. This is an active establishment that HC runs and it direly needs an expansion. An ankh or healer needs to be sufficiently placed far enough that it wont be hugely grief-able.

While I appreciate the idea of requesting new additions, at this time, no new additions to town structures will be made. This is due to the fact that our current policy for adding in town add-ons was built in a very ad-hoc manner, and until we can rewrite the policy to be more effective from beginning to end, we will not be adding or removing any town add-ons.

PEE's done a lot over time on here and Turtle Bay brings a lot of players together even if you rule out an extra dock for now cos of your excuses that's cool but at least stick an ankh or a red healer ty ty

The policy is generally located here, but is very poorly defined and out of date. It was vaguely defined in 2009, and hasn't received an update, or in this case, a rewrite in that entire time.

What is this, trammel? I vote that everyone who dies on the dock has to suffer resurrection attempts solely from an 80 healing 80 anat res bot that waits 30 seconds between each attempt.

Kaivan, the Staff's actions make you a liar in this regard.

This is a rather recent decision, and this is the first time that any player requested any upgrades since the decision was made, which made this the best public place to make players aware of the change. As for prior staff actions, this is largely in response to the fact that staff has made such changes without any guidelines in order to prevent any more problems of this nature from cropping up.
