UO Second Age

I dunno why i thought of this, and I can't find any pictures, but at one point in early UO when spell dmg was on in towns, ppl could cast Earthquake and 2 guards would come for every person they hit. I remember seeing a funny picture of this a long time ago.

Anyone remember seeing this/have a picture of 1000 guards at the WBB?

Note: Not arguing era accuracy in any way, im pretty sure it was pre T2A, just a funny memory.

I saw pictures of this, but never saw it in person. I did witness something very similar, though. It involved a couple guys at a busy bank with some purple pots.

There was sooo many guards.. Not enough to crash the server or anything, but enough that I was basically frozen on my old p2 233 comp w/ 56k modem.

I recall that at least one guard would come per person damaged. I think they changed this rather quickly.

I believe Chumbucket is correct with his statement. This particular bug could wreak havoc on a server back in the day. During a point in the early days before guards would teleport you could wedge yourself into a spot where a guard couldn't get to you. People would than proceed attacking random things causing a huge amount of guards to come and attack you being stuck in one spot. You could even continue attacking the guards that showed up causing them to call guards bringing an enormous amount of them to you. I'm sure you could imagine the problems this caused on server load during that time and a key reason to them fixing it so quickly.

I too remember this, and had a screenshot of myself doing it.

Buts its long since been lost among the multiple formats and computer changes since then.
