what to do with logs/boards

I recently made a lumberjack hoping to bring in some money just selling straight up wood. I got 12k boards and posted the sale on the forums but no one is biting yet. So I'm wondering what I should do to turn these things into money. Is there a standard carpentry item that you can sell to vendors for good money, or something in demand by players?

Also, what is the going rate for logs/boards if people do indeed buy them?

4gp each, hard to tell you what to make since NPCs pay less and less for things they are overstocked with. Housing add ons never seem to go out of style, but DO NOT assume this char will be your primary money maker.

I would just farm about, oh...40k more boards and just GM carpentry.

Thanks for reply.

But is having a gm carpenter really gonna be that useful? I mean I know kegs are always in demand but really what money can you make with stools and benches?

I just started a Carpentry vendor, and I've noticed that it's hit and miss. You will go a couple days without selling anything, then all of a sudden you have 15k on your vendor from someone decorating their entire house. Being that my vendor costs about 250/day in RL, it is well worth it.

You would also be surprised at how easily it is to sell just boards!!! You were having problems moving them because you were restricted by the fact that both you and your buyer would have to be on at the same time, and go through the shitty task of transferring boards to another person 700 at a time. Just throw it on your vendor and then ADVERTISE on the Selling/PlayerRunVendor section of the forums. I guarantee as long as your vendor spot doesn't suck, you will have no problems unloading them.(i've been known to buy a few boards here and there, and that is with a GM Lumberjack...woodchopping really blows! Looks like you already have your first customer!)

Make a few hundred arrows too! There aren't many Archers out there, but I've already had 3 people in the past couple of days ask me, while I was chopping wood, where the hell to find arrows.

You might not sell them immediately, but patience is a virtue. Before you know it, you'll be rushing out to chop boards just to restock your vendor!!!

Also, you could get all your money back making ONLY empty kegs!!! I do stools and benches and other add-ons more as a service, rather than increase my bottom line. I want people to be able to get anything in one stop. But again, boards and empty kegs can make you plenty!

Get some tinkering and make empty potion kegs with that wood.
