UO Second Age

I am fairly new to the server and have no idea of the market for magical items. I have the following:

leather shorts of fortification
durable leather shorts of fortification
durable ringmail tunic of fortification
fortified platemail gloves of fortification
massive ringmail tunic of fortification
substantial buckler of fortification

tear kite shield of invulnerability
platemail gorget of invulnearability

silver substantial large battle axe of thunder and ruin
eminently accurate (+15) katana of power
exceedingly accurate (+20) cleaver of power
surpassingly accurate (+10) maul of vanquishing

Armour is cheap, but you do have the best two types listed there, invul being best and fort second best. Fort is around 500-1k a piece, invul is around 1-3k per piece.

Silver weapons can get a high price if they are really nice. Charged weapons typically sell for the most, next to +tactics vanq/power halberds.

The Maul you have is ok, the large battle axe of thunder is good if it has lots of charges, and the +10 power katana is not bad. Those three are the best items you have listed there.

I had a sense it was probably of minimal value. Factoring the shard age with the ratio of new to well established players probably restricts the market for lower end items.

What is the best way to go about selling these items, paltry as the price may be, given that I lack the infrastructure to host vendors right now? Forums? IRC? Find a vendor to sell wholesale?

Try to get a vendor up around yew gate/bank or some other known vendor area then post a vendor thread on forums. Talk to people in game and give them a rune to your vendor. You gotta push them pixels

Irc and the forums will always be the fastest way to move those items for gold. Get suggested prices then go cheaper. Let others know your availability and you'll be on your way to selling to reoccurring associates in no time.
