Re: Era Accuracy: Black Sandals
Hehe, still not the my spot. However i would use a tamed animal, which one ill keep that to myself aswell. But when i gave the command normally i would get guard whacked and turn grey. The animal would kill the npc. Then i would have a freind rez me once i became blue again. On this server you can give the command to kill the npc and you dont even get flagged and the guards kill the animal. This is a problem in the script or whatever.Panama Red wrote:Apok, if you gave the command to "all kill", the animal had to still be tame, this could be the reason it did not work??? i never tried it with a tamer. you use to have to use provocation to kill the weaver, however, only you would get guard wacked, not the animal.
AND THE ONE AND ONLY SPOT APOK IS TALKING ABOUT IS POP WEAVER!
there i messed your whole day up apok. <- greedy!
cheers

Black Sandals: Spawned on Jewelers and Tailors (not sure if just the weavers). You would use the enticing skill to get them out of town and kill them, or chain poison them and guard whack yourself. These were TRUE BLACK.
Silver Sandals: Spawned on Brides (you know the ones you could escort?) You either escorted them somewhere out of guard zone and whacked em, or if they were already escorted and you enticed them as well.
Red Sandals: These were a burnt red that matched a suit of Daemon Bone Armor quite well. These spawned on Artists, or on a Cobbler in the provisioners.
I know this thread is from awhile back but I'd like to point out that there were also Blue and Green colored sandals. Blue sandals came from mage vendors (not guildmasters) and green came from the Alchemist's in Wind. You could also get the red colored sandals from any Alchemist vendor. The % on these were generally pretty low. The hues on the blue sandals ranged from crappy greyish blue to deep, dark blues. The darker the blue, the more money they'd fetch. I made more money off the blue sandals than I did the black.
Re: Era Accuracy: Black Sandals
I only knew of two NPCs that these true black sandals spawned; Serps Hold weaver right next to the bank, and Papua jewler, right next to the bank.
Re: Era Accuracy: Black Sandals
Magincia had true black sandals, I killed vendors daily to get them to spawn via poison, probaly got 3 pairs a week. I cried when they added murder counts for vendors.
Re: Era Accuracy: Black Sandals
Delucia weaver was my spot
Re: Era Accuracy: Black Sandals
Is the spawn still going on OSI shards ?
Black sandals were going for years on Europa. 100% sure they were obtainable from Jewlers and weavers.
50% sure they were available untill i left the game in 2005. I don't remember black sandal spawns being removed anyway.

I remember these hues, though I remember them being a UO:R addition. I'll keep an eye out for anything on the old stratics. If you can find anything post it up! It has been 10yrs and my memory is foggy at best, so I'm not exactly sure.
<@SecondAge> Several Lichs have been spotted in the Britain Graveyard.
<@SecondAge> The cause is unknown and several townspeople were seen fleeing in fear
<Vintirex-droid> Several townspeople, Not a big enough problem imo

Re: Era Accuracy: Black Sandals
I'm fairly sure all vendors of certain types could spawn them (regardless of location). Got some bride sandals today... I'm assuming they aren't uncommon.
Re: Era Accuracy: Black Sandals
I think they are rarer here than on OSI, depending on how light they are.
Re: Era Accuracy: Black Sandals
The ones I got are a silverish color... not as white as I've seen them back in the day on OSI. The bride was right at the entrance of LB's castle. Made a newbie to escort her to her death.Eulogy wrote:I think they are rarer here than on OSI, depending on how light they are.

I took a quick looksie around the internet and this publish is all I could find. http://www.uoherald.com/news/news.php?newsid=598
It says:
This was March 9, 2000 and UO:R was released like a month and a half later. I didn't play long after UO:R was released, so I don't really remember what it was like. Didn't NPC shopkeepers start giving you murder counts or something? So long ago...Shopkeeper Changes
NPC shopkeepers will no longer have colored sandals. Evil NPC Mages will carry these items.
