Chaos/Order pets not orange

Meant to post this a month or 2 ago...I am curious how the mechanic works for tamed pets within chaos/order. I was fighting in town and threw a greater explosion (with no npcs around) and my opponent (in the opposing faction, order) jumped off his horse so the exp would hit it, then he guard whacked me. Shouldn't something like this be an exploit of a game mechanic? Opposing faction pets should be ORANGE not BLUE? This happened while ago, just forgot to post. Thanks to Fruit Loops for the experience.
