Arms lore means nothing. You will get an unused reading on a weapon with 1/1 durability.
It's to bad Arms lore doesn't give a max durability reading :/

Re: durable, +25 Supremely Acc Katana of Vanq!
Heh! We never did get VDP sorted-out here; did we? That would pin-down any item's remaining durability.
Has anyone ever Item-IDed something, repaired it, Item-IDed again, over-and-over, to see if the price-estimates decrease with permanent wear?
To "do this right", one would need a GM in Identification, take an item, and,
1st stage: Item-ID repeatedly to determine the reliability of the pricing algorithm(s); if ID-pricing is determined to be satisfactorily reliable,
2nd stage: repair, then ID, in-tandem, repeatedly, and observe how the pricing estimates drop ...
Has anyone ever done anything of the kind; are there any other possible solutions?

That's a good idea, the pricing may have something to do with the overall durability of the item. It's worth a test for sure.

I guess I should add, for the sakes of both clarity and completion,
the test-item would need to get beaten-up: one will not repair an item that is not damaged; and,
it would be ideal for the repairing smith to be GM, in order to eliminate/minimize repair-failures (repair-failure reduces the durability of the item); in any event, any occurrences of repair-failure would have to be noted.
As to who might perform any such testing ... well, I don't have any available character-slots, and I don't have anyone with GM Item-ID: I can't do it; I could provide the GM smith for the repairs, though ...

Katana was sorted with other Vanq weapons, in a Castle that a player has only been refreshing for a year. Was in back of castle sorted with other weapons. Castle was storage only from the looks. Likely you can bid in confidence that it is unused.

i dunno how you consistently manage to squeeze in unnecessary hyphens, ellipses, commas and semicolons in literally every single sentence, but you do and it's spectacular. it's like watching someone in remedial classes trying to write an essay while proverbially flailing their floaty-clad arms around in a fit of rage.
honestly it wouldn't be so cringeworthy if you didn't spend so much effort injecting as many basic grammatical and punctuation errors into your posts as possible.

Everyone knows that there is no way to confirm this. The only thing you have to go on is a persons word. Unless the seller states that it is fresh loot that they acquired and have not used and you trust them at their word....the question is moot.Rose wrote:Brand new confirmed?
