How Not to Complain about Things on the Boards

This has been another edition of How Not to Complain about Things on the Boards.

Here are a number of helpful hints:

1. Post at the correct forum (Era Accuracy).

2. Keep expressions of disappointment minimal. You don't own the computer that this shard runs on, hence you have no grounds for outrage.

3. When speaking of era accuracy, do not merely appeal to what you seem to think you might remember things being like ten years ago. Find documentation if possible. If not, better to phrase your deep disappointment as a question, viz., "Pardon me, chaps. But does anyone else seem to recall there being more PHAT LEWTZ on level five maps ten years ago?"

4. When others disagree with your memories, do not reply with "WTF U R DUM" or any of its variants.

Of course, we all have our moments of strong disagreement with the shard and, even more often, its players, but if we follow the above rules, we will be that much closer to the UO Shangra La of era accuracy. If we're especially good, Derrick will implement ridable neon Maahes-es.

To see chumbuckets original copy of this post visit this thread; http://forum.uosecondage.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=7289

I think making a thread about this is a wee bit over kill, aye mate?

Or maybe I could make a thread about "How Not to Make a Thread, Complaining about Another thread, Already in the forums, and copying an older post."

I agreed with it enough to make this one myself, it is just a stickied copy of this post

The "OMG WTF THIS SUX" posts are a uncommon but none-the-less somewhat bothersome posting style. We do our best to address all player complaints and suggestions, but the sheer volume of text that hits the forums prevent us from responding to all issues directly. Posts which are more substantive will likely see a higher review and resolution rate than ones that make the eyes bleed.

Ahhaa, so it's your fault Derrick! Curse you swine! :x

Well, to quote those that wear bling and are cool, "fuck the haters"

I think your dedicated player base was able to sufficiently teach (I'm looking at you chumbucket) Kanarah how to more properly express discontentment on any aspect of game play. Hopefully, threads such as this one, and responses from players and staff to future threads of irrational anger at staff/game play, will cause a decrease in the outbursts of, "WTF U R DUMB!" and a increase in the threads of... Haha - "Pardon me, chaps. But does anyone else seem to recall there being more PHAT LEWTZ on level five maps ten years ago?" (source for quote: chumbucket)

I would also like to add, a "Thank you" for your free shard you allow me to play on. Coming from other free servers such as UO:G I realize what a pleasure it is to have a staff that actually cares about its players. And from my reading of the forums, you are doing a top notch job at responding to all kinds of threads. Keep up the good work, and thank you!

You can leave the neon ridable Maahes in the Minoc stables for me to pick up at my leisure!
