UO Second Age

I went to the following link tonight http://forum.uosecondage.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=95 , and voted for UOSECONDAGE. This is something I don't do often enough, and I noticed that there are TONS of REALLY crappy servers with few players listed above UOSECONDAGE. How do servers like this receive more votes than we do (cheating?)?

Voting benefits YOU as a player. The more players there are, the more fun this game is. There are more people to interact with, and it helps the UO economy!

Everyone, do yourself a favor, and attempt to vote religiously from the list of voting websites at the following thread (a sticky thread in this forum).

Including me also. I just voted. I suggest that Derrick have the secondage bot remind every person that enter the IRC channel to vote.

Edit: I was referring to a PM btw not just a channel message.

We acctually have a vibrant server to play, and thats a much better allocation of time.

Most servers with the highest votes have players who just want to see their time investment pull out of the red.

Those captcha images are a pain in the ass. I sat at one for a good 5 minutes trying to get it, and I know I typed it 100% accurately several times. It never let me past the page. The others seemed to work fine.

I know some shards "cheat" and offer rewards in game to players who vote. I'm not saying that should be done here, but that's why you see some crappy servers with a lot of votes.

Well one thing that Defiance has that makes voting real simple is a [vote command in game. When you use it, a small browser pops up with 'vote for Defiance', and that's it. All done. It helps them get a LOT of votes because it's so easy to do.

A lot of those topsites are easily cheated =/. IE, You can program a bot to vote thousands of times so long as you have a huge list of proxies for the bot to use.

I agree with original post. We have more players but yet we are behind 700 votes....

Just look at how much we've gone up on all of the voting sites since people have been posting about it on the forum, though!
