potion keg fiasco

In my main backpack, I had 1 half keg and inside of this keg I had many potion keg making items and also another keg with 9 more half kegs inside of that one. I then selected one of the half kegs with tinkering tools from my "supply" keg (the half keg being inside of the 1 keg inside of the "supplies keg"), lost all supplies, and was left with a single potion keg in my main backpack - it ate my items and won't pour them back out.

It was a box inside of a box and on the outside of the box an empty box laid within...and within the confines of everything absolutely nothing. That's pretty heavy. Far out..or maybe Far inside out dude. Did you try to shake it ? lol.
sorry...sorry

How Keg makeing works is similar to other crafts, when you select the half keg as your "material" its not choosing that specific half keg rather its using your selection to bring up the Keg menu, then you select potion keg off the menu and it consumes 1 barrel lid, 1 barrel tap, 10 bottles & a half keg but it just picks from the items in your backpack,
ie: it must have picked your keg which you had your items in, hehe

Nice find!
When you are tinkering to create the potion keg, what item do you select after double clicking the tinker tools to bring up the gump to create the keg? I have done similar scenarios before and if you use tinkering tools and manually select the keg you wish to turn into a potion keg then use the gump, it seems to work ok..

You use the tools on the empty half-keg to open the "potion keg" menu.
If the last thing you made with those tools was a potion keg, you can click the tools and select the same tools to create the last thing you made (a keg), and the resources (empty half keg) will be randomly picked from your backpack.

Did you try chopping up the keg to see if you get all the other stuff back out?

Sadly, the stuff is gone. This will be fixed soon, it's a bit of a job to fix it. Containers that have contents should not be allowed as component resources for crafting.
