Alchemy bonus is AOS not UOR Hemp...

I would have to disagree with you aXe... Hemp is AOS with a high possibility of ML or even SA. :wink:

Alchemy Bonus actually came about with publish 16 which introduced powerscrolls and champ spawns. This was well before aos, its kind of an individual era of its own distinct from either UO:R or AoS as it was fairly different from either. Not trying to start a huge argument about it, just pointing this out for infos sake.

Pub 16 was only a few months before AOS... I guess we could throw that into its own category quite similar to the t2a step child era in early '00 when pre casting was removed until the UOR publish a few months later. Publish 16 implemented a lot of junk in preparation for the AOS expansion just like the 2nd t2a era did for the UOR publish.

Pub 16 had a very different flavour to AOS and broke an entirely different set of tried and tested game mechanics. I think it may also have been tied in with the Mondains Legacy client. It was also slightly less retarded than aos. I should know, I kept playing through all the idiotic changes.

There is no doubt that Pub 16 had a different flavor than AOS. Anything that is different than damage modifiers being based on elements and items having special modifiers would be a different flavor without the slightest doubt. However, many of the additions of that publish were still leading up to the AOS expansion's release a few months later. This is the case for all patches before the relase of a major expansion for any game.

Yeah, that must be it... Where exactly did I ever say that I wasn't wrong son? I knew that the alchemy bonus came close to the AOS era. However, at least it's a better estimation for someone that never played either of the two than the UOR era... I don't claim to be an expert on any era after the relase of the UOR publish. I never played any of that crap and very glad that this was the case.

Faust is definately wrong :) Alchemy bonus was 6 months before AOS. I didn't really post to prove him wrong tho, just that people often fail to recognise that there is a Pub 16 era as well (however short it was).

I dont think pub 16 changes were in preperation for aos at all, at that point the UO dev team was too far gone to know what they were planning. Pub 16 basically allowed you to slightly up your stats and skills with the addition of some new pvm challenges, it felt more like an extension of UO:R and the pvp wasn't too different. AOS ripped apart most fundamentals of the game (casting times, recovery times, resists, monster loot, magic items, casting while armed, addition of necromancy and chivalry etc etc).
