To Devious or not to Devious - T-Maps

Hey guys,

I'm considering tuning my treasure hunter down to level 4 T-maps only due to the fact that it will probably take hundreds of hours of active playing to get GM cartographer from 99.5 and GM lock picking from 94.7. By doing this, is it true that I would only need 92.0 Lockpicking, 91.0 Cartography to dig and open up to and including level 4 maps/chests? This would free up 17 Skill points which with a lower magery, musicianship, and resist would give me around 80's meditation.

Does anyone see any other problems such as not being able to open dungeon floor chests or MiB/SoS bottle chests?

Thanks alot!!

-Jeb

I am only capable of doing level 4 maps currently, but we have somone in our guild capable of level 5s.
As a guild when we do these hunts the level 5s are far more entertaining and challenging than the level 4s. We also bring home about twice as much booty per trip.
Theres a pretty big difference between a level 4 and 5. In my opinion it is worth it (but im going to get there over time, not power game it).

does Detect hidden improve the effectiveness of lockpicking on chests?

wiki seems to say so

Thank you for the response Blackfoot, it seems that you need a large group to do level 5's. Can you tell me the difference between level 4 and level 5 amount of people you need?

Thanks,

You can solo a level 4 easily if you're a bard

Level 5's require a lot of time and finesse to solo, but are still doable
