do level 5 (deviously) maps spawn ancient wyrms..?

No, they spawn daemons, blood elementals, poison elementals, lich lords, elder gazers I believe.

And Titans.

Most, if not all, of the monsters in parentheses did not spawn.

Here is an accurate list of the guardian spawns:

Level 1 - Headless One, Mongbat, Ratman, Skeleton, Zombie, Orcs
Level 2 - Earth Elemental, Gazer, Gargoyle, Hellhound, Orcish Mage
Level 3 - Air Elemental, Dread Spider, Fire Elemental, Lich, Ogre Lord
Level 4 - Elder Gazer, Daemon, Dread Spider, Lich Lord, Ogre Lord
Level 5 - Blood Elemental, Elder Gazer, Daemon, Lich Lord, Poison Elemental

Although I personally don't remember orcs spawning in a level 1 map. I do remember the orcish mages on level 2's though.

Nope, they didn't spawn for level 5 maps. When level 6 maps were introduced with paragon monsters in Ilshenar, they included balrons, ancient wyrms and the like.

Ok, guess I'm just on a string of bad luck.

does detect work as described on the site in correlation to lockpicking? =p

Some of the info in old stratics pages were guesses. To my knowledge though Detect Hidden rever had any impact on lockpicking.
