What is your skill currently at?
You can technically get to 100 just by healing damage. It is recommended though that in the 60s you switch to curing poison, and around 80 you switch to attempting to res a ghost.

Getting to 80-85 should be failry easy by just healing. (Be it on someone practicing magery or sparring)
Then its just a day and a night or so on a ghost ressing.
I have a gm healer on each of my 3 accounts...(You wouldnt believe the how many uses i can find for these guys!) I always had ANAT at 90-100 before i started healing as it is an easy skill to macro.
I dont think any of my 3 healers ever cured a poison for skill gain.
and the obvious... healing someone else is 2/3rds quicker than healing yourself so you raising on youself will take 3x as long.
Good luck

Seems if i was hitting him to much, his heals would be very small amounts and he would not gain off them, so i just stand there and take while he hits me now. Much better gains for him, we will swap after a while

I picked up a stack of nightshade (1k) and poisoned an NPC, then cured him. Did this from 75 to 90ish, so much faster than trying to rez a ghost.
You also get better gains by using NPCs versus actual players. This is apparently documented somewhere, as to the reference, I couldn't tell you.
