^^Personally, I don't want monster-gating to go away - but I *do* think
^^that the monster's controller-flag should be set to whomever cast the
^^gate. If the monster steps through your gate, you should be held
^^responsible for it.
^
^I don't think this is a good idea. What about when your escorting &
^you open a gate to a dungeon to deliver an escort when a monster
^happens to be right there and steps through ? This happened to me just
^last night. I would have been guard-whacked.

The answer is, don't open gates in high monster activity areas... If you do
then you take your chances.

Just opening a gate allowed monsters to walk through...this is how gating worked before. That patch is how it works now monsters dont aimlessly walk into gates on their own accord and no other patches were put in place affecting either herding or entice, that is accuracy for you.

No...

You are ignoring the patch note it seems.
It will no longer be possible to gate monsters. Only escorts, hirelings, pets, and summoned creatures.
If enticed creatures would have been allowed they would have said that in the patch note.
"pets" and "hirelings" use the same "pet" script. Yet they didn't forget to refer to "hirelings" seperatly.

Do we really need 4! threads in 3 forums about this?

Side note: Dont discount stealth patchs archaic, we know they happened.

The patch "As it was" seems to be in place or are monsters hopping through hoops everytime you set a gate up?

Thats not the point im making.
no other patches were put in place affecting either herding or entice
Thats what im talking about. As with anything that is debatable, we cannot be 100% sure there was not a stealth patch at some point. Thats all im saying.
