One of my favorite things about UO was the really cool music. Is there any way to get the game to play the appropriate music when entering say, Britain, or walking through the forest?

Lol well I would have never guessed to just simply turn the music on... I suppose I will clarify further for those who believe my issue is mental retardation: There is some music in the game. In fact I get music when logging in and the sounds while in game are just fine. My problem is that during the last couple days I’ve been playing, I get no other music. Not while in combat, not while entering towns on foot, not while traversing the forests/jungles/etc.

Hey, I wonder if I have my computer turned on... that may be the problem.

Sounds strange that you're getting the login music and none in-game.

You checked your MIDI synth volume on your sound control panel? Sometimes other apps mute certain channels.

If you have already I'm not implying you're a retard :P

If you are running Vista. Leave music turned off or it will crash your client.

Nope Im running XP SP2 and it does not appear as if any other program is interfering with the music... Are other people getting music to play or is this just how the game was set up to run? I clearly remember when I played UOx10 for those two weeks having the same issue so I guess I never considered that this may just be how the game runs now. /shrug

Well, does anyone know a solution?

I'm currently dealing with the same issue.
