Taming is the most painfull thing I have done in my life... just hit 49.5. Is their any easier way to do this. I have a friend who also has a 50 tamer... anyway to work together for better gains? Any advice at all, Hell Im about ready to pay my kids 10 bucks for every 1.0 gain they get me....

At 50 skill, get to Ice Island and tame whatever you can on there. There's a lot of good targets. I did this until I was able to tame Bulls. Check out the T2A wiki for a list of what you can tame. for the most part, you want to tame whatever is the hardest thing you can tame, but Ice Island is great because there's just so much available to tame.

40 to 50 was painful for me too. seemed to get better after that until the 80's. i would also head to ice island as soon as you can tame walruses and polar bears.

Welcome to the hardest skill ever. And, as a gm tamer let me give you some advice. Dont waste your time. All the various changes that have been implemented have made taming not even close to worth it. You'll spend more time trying to tame dragons and things then you will making money. Because I assure you, every spot worth farming has 6 man gank squads show up in 5 minute intervals and you will lose a lot of those hard to tame dragons. And I say hard to tame because theres only 2 realistic spots where you can tame them (I dont count destard way to many reds) and pks will show up there every 5 minutes too. And half the time people are killing the dragons in those spots and they have long respawn times.

thats sucks... I guess if I ever finish a GM tamer I will have to roll with 42 dragons like that one guy (cant remember his name). Taming gives me something to do at work. I have really slowed down on trying to get my taming up, but I figured it might keep the blue PK off my back if Im rolling with a few dragons. The true PK gank squad can get around the dragons anyways. so I have heard.. Anyways not sure if Im not going to GM it or not but gives me something to do while doing server checks...

The rolling with 42 dragons thing doesnt work anymore because the "All kill" command no longer makes all kill at once. You have to individually call out names with commands, thus making it very hard to defend yourself with dragons against a gank.

To kill a red with 40+ dragons all you need do is stand there. They auto kill.

Go ahead and finish your tamer, you'll find people on this server will try to deter you from doing it....mainly because they are 1: rich and don't want their money to be worth less and 2: Are a pk and want easy kills.

You've showed that your obviously not a tamer by showcasing your complete lack of taming knowledge. If you really think any tamer will be out with 40 plus dragons then your just a moron. Most tamers hunt with 3 dragons or 1 ww. After the tamer changes anything more then 3 is just a nuisence. Before the ruleset few tamers traveled with more then 5, somtimes up to 10 dragons. Sure, there may have been the occasional guy who took 40 or somthing stupid and impractical like that, however, with the new taming changes you will almost never see that again. To say that im trying to turn hima way from being a tamer because him a pk (Which im nt) or because im worried about him cutting into my money is just laughable. About 98% of the people who set out to gm taming fail before they get out of the 50's. With the elemination of pretames, im fairly sure that very few if any people have gm'd taming since. So im really not worried about him gm'ing taming, little lone cutting into my profits. Im just trying to save him the hours and hours of grueling boring gameplay that it will take himt o get there, as its no longer worth it. Its more profitable to macro u p a provoker in 2 days now. All the glory has been removed from taming.

There is a guy rolling with 50 dragons at a time to secure all his farming spots and the pks are crying rivers over it. So it is you that does not know what they are talking about k thx bai

Hi...i wasn't aiming my response at you. The pks camping the small gold/ big taming spots tells you everything you need to know. People don't want tamers here.

You shouldn't take offense unless you are named specifically. This is a overwhelming anti tamer sentiment server and there's a reason for it....we get all the gold and the houses/rares while the rest are spending their last dime buying potion kegs for unsustainable pvp habits.

Stranger, you have obviously been gone a while. Hanging out with 50 dragons is a great way to get a kill vs a red.

Like everyone else, you confuse me with another tamer. I control my pets 1 by 1 using my macros.

If i want to set up a razor macro to call 100 dragons it's just that simple too.

PS the most i use is 5 and i control them all. It's still insta death if they touch you.

A little insight. I PK everyday, and that's the only thing I do on UOSA if im not macroing another character.. I have not once ever died to a dragon hoard or any sort of taming technique.

Simply stating, taming is 4% of its original power and dominance it once held.

Kefka was right about one thing. 2 people against a tamer who isn't using a dozen dragons is probably the best way. I see 1 pk and i just continue farming, dispel random EV and heal til he leaves to mana up.

I grab my gold and leave.

If 2 pks show up , i bolt out of there and say screw the dragons. Chances are they have paid for themselves by the time i get attacked.
