This morning (i'm european) i got up and saw that i have been kicked from the boat i was ghosting.
I was ghosting it because i've got the keys for the boat and i was sleeping, and stood there spamming "stop" and £drop anchor" waiting for the server down
to just redeed it. I woke up this morning and i found a screen of "connection lost" with a gm standing there.
Sleepy i didnt got the screen, but i've got one of the journal saying that my char said "I have been kicked!"
Now i demand why did the gm kicked me? in an identical situation, where i was the "victim" of the thief, the gm told me that he couldn't do anything, he couldn't kick the ghost from my boat. Was there any reason to kick me off it ? here is the screenshot of the journal

ty in advance, i think the staff here is great and i'm sure there's some sort of explanation for this

Was it your ship or were you griefing someone else's trying to hijack it?

When aboard a ship anyone can control it not just the person with the key, and it doesn't matter ghost status or living. Only a ghost who had the planks unlocked would spam drop anchor and stop. Now why did you do that?

You dont redeed ships you drydock them, and they are newbied when they are drydocked so it didn't matter. Also you were not waiting for restart...because there wasn't a last save before this happened.

Sort out your facts. And plainly state what you were doing. From what you said so far, it sounds like you know what you were doing on the other hand you act like you know nothing at all. Kind of Fishy don't you think?

I hijacked this boat stealing the keys, i recalled on it with a mage and putted there a char that was killed by the boat owner second account char. in the meantime i had set a boat next to it, and i had a mage ready to recall in after server restart to redeed it, when the owner ghost would disconnect.I left there my thief ghost spamming drop anchor and stop to prevent it from moving
from the spot, to ensure that i would have been capable to redeed it with the key i had previously stolen and put into my mage inventory.
I went to sleep because restart was like 10 hours away, and i left the things all set.
When i got up this morning, like 2 hours before the server restart, i found the screen with "connection lost" and a gm shape on the boat. I reconnected and looked on the journal to find in the journal that my char said "I've been kicked!" . The GM kicked me from the boat. Now, to answer Hemperor, i was in the same situation, with a ghost of another thief spamming the exact things on the boat, when i paged the gm to ask if he could kick him out of the boat he said that he couldn't . Now, i am asking why i have been kicked, granted that the GM that i paged in the past didn't kick the thief that was doing the same exact things i was doing on the boat. I only want to know it for future reference, on what i can or cannot do to hijack a boat.

I really don't understand what's fishy in this situation, and why would i lie , posting it on a forum. I'm not saying that GMs aren't doing their work, i'm just ASKING for an explanation to clarify this facts.

Next time, stand on the recall spot to block the owner from coming in....

Okay you were killed by the boat owner after stealing the key and recalling to the ship. Sounds to me like you were griefing the owner after dying by messing with his navigation by freezing the ship.

If you had the key that's one thing...but ghosting in this form should be illegal if you didn't. Its sort of like mining the same spot unattended where you cant access that spot. If you were griefing then you cant really say anything. Should have drydocked the ship right then and there and ran off. Because you didn't drydock I assume you didnt have the key. If you did now you know.

Wait awhile next time to loot or drydock.

Seriously though it sounds like you grabbed the key, recalled to the ship, got killed, the key was looted back and you decided to just be a jerk and spam anchor because you lost in the epic ship heist.

archaicsubrosa77 do you read anything? or just not comprehend?

he said he has the keys, but he can't dock it until the owner of the boat (ghost or otherwise) is also off the boat. that's not hard to understand.

he has the keys on one character and has a ghost on the boat to keep it from moving, server restarts he logs in quick with the character that has the keys and docks it. end of story. hopefully before the owner of the boat also logs back in.

doing this is not illegal, nor is blocking resources as you mentioned.

If he has the keys he is the owner point blank. If he died on board he no longer had the key (if he had them on person) and if the planks were locked then the boat is useless if his body decayed and the key was never retrieved. If he didnt have the key then it could be a boat acts like a house in that if you are not the owner(or have the key) you will be removed at log out.

Technically its not his boat...if it was by stealing the key or otherwise, it is not anymore.

why are you saying "I've been kicked"? It doesn't even do that when you are kicked...

Thats why I think when you are on a boat it acts like you were in a house and kicks you out when you relog. You are not going to travel with the boat if it moves if you are on it, and you arent going to be in the middle of the ocean at log in.

that was my plan. But as i got on my pc after sleeping, all i have seen was the screen in game with a Gamemaster standing there, the gump
for connection lost, and a notice on my journal saying "I have been kicked!" that appears whenever a GM kicks you. I'd like to understand why i have been kicked.

I'm saying that when you get kicked it is a system message.. not a player saying "I've been kicked"

The GMs are all different, one can/will do one thing while another will say they can't. The first GM you interacted with was on the "no interference" side, so he wasn't going to remove the ghost from your ship. The second GM was probably opposite and didn't approve of your spam tactics, so he promptly removed you from the other person's ship.

More than likely you were booted for the spam. You don't have to say anything to keep the boat in the water; even if the guy sailed you to land, he couldn't dry dock it with you (as a ghost) was still on board.

On a side note what does happen if you log off on a ship, yours or not and it is moved. Is your log in destination the ship or the area in which it is located? Having Never logged off on a ship before I have not the foggiest myself. And what happens if you are mid sail during last save...does the ship continure on forward if you do not stop it and log back in soon?
