i came across this when i was looking at the different houses from uo:r
i know at one point u could steal house deeds on the t2a server here, and now u cant.
so i don't know if this stuff is meaningful for the era or not. well see
Note: Deeds for houses that were re-deeded or were purchased prior to April 16, 1999, are possible to steal.

P.S.
i also PKed this guy back in the day by moonglow on GL and he had a house deed on him.
that was my most memorable moment in uo, so I'm pretty sure house deeds are not blessed.

# Note: House Deeds purchased after April 16th

* House deeds that are purchased off of npcs will be considered newbie items. If you are a murderer and you die, a house deed will be left on your corpse. If you are not a murderer and you die, the deed will stay on your ghost character. If you set these items down, they will decay rapidly.

This looked to be a highly debated issue on this shard when it was made, I think most approved but many didn't.
There is actually history here of one guild (a UBER 133t PK guild no less) throwing a fit and a chunk of their players threatening to quit/quitting after their keep deed got stolen.

So you were right in part that any house that has been redeeded before our newbie house deed patch went in should probably not be newbied. I don't know that it isn't, and if it isn't that way it is probably due to the fact that it was a pain to code that way.

There is a subsequent patch note, just a week or two later, that made ALL deeds newbied.

Newibed house deeds are T2A Accurate for our time frame.

im rly confused what are the dates of the t2a era?
I thought before april 1999 would fall into the t2a era for sure. am i wrong?
it says house deeds after april 1999 are newbied, so wouldnt that make newbie house deeds fall into pre: uor era phase of rules
and not actual t2a, that the people who played back than remember how risky it would be to leave town
with such a valuable item knowing a thief can use the skill they trained to attempt steal it, and a pk can attepmt to kill for it.

my claim is that t2a houses being newbied is 100% not accurate as far as the t2a era goes.

p.s. poop - i highly doubt that derrick would change a rule just to appease a guild that got their keep deed stolen. (btw that happand right in front of my old tower by brit x roads). most who played on this shard about 6 months remember when chum stole a CASTLE deed from b-d guild and they still play.

At no point was I attempting to imply this. I'm sorry it may have come across this way through the interweb.

I believe Derrick is actually trying to duplicate a specific timeframe of T2A, right around the Nov '99-Dec'99 era so anything after that is void and anything before that is generally accepted (minus the changes in housing in the Nov patch).

T2A deeds being newbied is both 100% accurate and 100% inaccurate from T2A. Our timeframe, I believe, is May-Nov1999. As for something that changed WITHIN those months, I guess it's up to popular opinion and/or mgmt decision. But my sense from being here a few months is that things that happened later in the time period tend to have priority. So it's really a Nov-1999 shard, which happens to fall under the T2A era.

Mikel is right, T2A was a huge time of growth and change for UO. You could really make an argument either way on the newbie house deeds, which is probably why they originally weren't newbied. Really the only way to settle two patches that don't agree is by public opinion or by what Derrick thinks is best for the game.

I preferred to have house needs lootable as it really is a very T2A risk, however in an attempt to refine our time frame due to what was belived to be conflicting mechanics, we've settled on May-Nov 1999, and house deeds were newbied.
