I have a newbie key as well, it's nice to have a quick key to your house that can't get stolen or be lost when you die. Definitely worth the cash for convenience!
Re: Newbie blank key
Not sure why this is any better or worse then locking down a keyring on your porch with a quick razor macro? Can you please enlighten me?ScoobyDoO wrote:I have a newbie key as well, it's nice to have a quick key to your house that can't get stolen or be lost when you die. Re: Newbie blank key
If you're living in a high traffic area, being able to run inside and have the door locked by the time you close it, is convenient.

Re: Newbie blank key
Isn't that like saying why have a macro to equip a Halley when you can just pick it up and manually do it? I'm lazy, I don't feel like clicking the key ring, unlocking the door, open the door, click key ring again, lock door, go inside and close door, or if you have newbies key, go inside, shut door. Re: Newbie blank key
When your key is on you there is no clicking, and if you have automatically open doors option checked on in razor all you do is walk into your house and close the door which takes about a second. When the key is locked in the front you have to come to the door, double click the key, click the door (door unlocks) double click the door (it opens) double click key and select door (door locks) walk in the house and double click door (it closes). If all goes well this process can be done in 3 seconds if not you could be in danger or worse, dead, depending on where your house is.Watatsumi wrote:Not sure why this is any better or worse then locking down a keyring on your porch with a quick razor macro? Those with money up the wazoo can probably spend a keep deed on the convenience and safety. The rest of us either keep making characters with at least 1 skill point in tinkering or try to become super rich and buy one.

Its just about people being lazier and wanting to use their house as a quick bank box.WiseOne wrote:When your key is on you there is no clicking, and if you have automatically open doors option checked on in razor all you do is walk into your house and close the door which takes about a second. What else do you use your house for? To store things...Milliband wrote:Its just about people being lazier and wanting to use their house as a quick bank box.WiseOne wrote:When your key is on you there is no clicking, and if you have automatically open doors option checked on in razor all you do is walk into your house and close the door which takes about a second. There's lots of uses for a house aside an extra bank box, for example: This.ScoobyDoO wrote:What else do you use your house for? To store things...
But this thread is about the key, not a house / the use of a house.
I would love a newbie key, but alas, I'm too poor for it.

I'll buy the key for you if the bazookas put out a feature length tale of adventure by Friday. Has to be an interesting and new idea.the bazookas wrote:There's lots of uses for a house aside an extra bank box, for example: This.ScoobyDoO wrote:What else do you use your house for? To store things...

and have seen a few posts on them, but info on it.
Thanks in advance

Re: Newbie blank key
Here's the story:
If you start a character with any amount of tinkering skill there's a ~1% chance of getting a blank key as part of your starting equipment. If you're blue, it will stay on you when you die (like any newbie equipment).
It makes entering houses much easier. Also reduces the risk of you forgetting to re-lock the door.
