Telamon, have you retired from collecting rares altogether, or is petitioning to have other people's stuff deleted just another facet of your pixel fascination?

You didn't attend the event, you missed out on some cool stuff, deal with it. If you'd been the one who grabbed these items you would've kept your mouth completely shut about it until the time came to profit from them. Go ahead and tell me that's untrue, seriously just try. The second you do, you're a liar.

"I ignore people who don't leap to agree with me"

Grow up. Furthermore, you clearly asked for the items to be removed in your first post, so your assertion that you're asking for nothing to be deleted is a lie.

Yup, there it is.

I didn't get to the event until after 8PM EST last night but I got a look at that magic candle sitting in the castle. So it couldn't possibly have been the first to the event that got everything. I wanted it and figured it wasn't locked down since it was sitting on the floor among piles of gold but #1 - It was in a section that I had no clue how to get to. #2 - I didn't bring a stealther. I snuck into the main area of the castle and tried like hell to grab all kinds of items that, unfortunately, they remembered to lock down.

I wasn't sure if the items would be up for grabs once the castle fell so I went to sleep. I had 3 characters well placed all over with scavenger on and all the rares marked. Had I known for sure that they would be available, I would have stayed up until it fell. I hope pro can keep his stuff and all but I agree with Telamon about the need for clarification. I am morally opposed to buying decorative rares but getting, nay, earning them by fighting and/or hiding in a dangerous place for many hours is something I would enjoy.

The magic candle, at least, was grabbed well before the castle fell. I saw it about 15 minutes after I got there and noticed it missing a little over an hour later. I'd assume the same thing is true about the other items.

None of these items were accidentally left there. I paged Dupre and ensured that they were not. The event was up for 4 hours before I even attempted to try so everyone had a pretty solid chance at getting stuff.

I'll hold bids til I can get staff confirmation and to be honest am not that fussed about the items. I play events because I enjoy the challenge. I've never done them for the gold. I don't intend to use the gold for own my purposes I hopefully plan on expanding the SvG guild town and upping our recruitment.

Further edit: Just to clarify I'd like Telamons examples as my precedence form the items comes from an event way back in a custom area where I found a metal chest unlocked and was allowed to keep it.

As one who attended this event, I give Pro props for getting those items. There was quite a good window of opportunity for everyone to have a chance at them, and Pro simply figured it out first. I don't see this as a handout... far from it. Pro earned those items.

We UO vets all know that there are few (if any) rewards that pop out as "wow" items. Gold? Who cares? Gems? Whoopdedoo. An exceedingly accurate longsword of vanquishing--la-de-freaking-da. So, we either expect people to attend events for no reward whatsoever (which is actually fine by me), or we have a situation (which I think enhances an event) where people who actually put in effort, and in particular, those who excelled in the event get rewarded big. Why not? It gives people an extra goal to shoot for and enjoy from these events.

But most of all, I don't think these kinds of events happen frequently enough to argue that adding a few unique items every once in a while (when was the last time this happened?), particularly as a reward for a puzzle that only 1 person is going to figure out in good time amidst an extremely challenging PvM environment is "moving towards a handout server". If anything, I think there SHOULD be puzzles like this that have a substantial reward attached. It makes things much more interesting.

Besides, for those of us who did not experience the "Server Births" event, can't we expect that there will be some events that will create some unique items where we can earn one?

On the other hand, I agree that events that are attended should not give every participant a statue worth a 2 story deed. I think rewards must be earned, like I believe this one absolutely was.

Just my 2 cents.
Most people like us, or at least they like what we do. Regardless, we appreciate all our victims, and we hope that their encounter with us is a memorable one.

You should be careful about advising others about this.

The event was a lot of fun. I lost more then I probably got in gold value but it was the fun I was after not the loot. I think if someone came up and got some unique items from an event good for him! Telemon I think you sound like a cry baby and its just lame. No one owes you an explanation for anything especially a GM. Maybe you should go to an event and try and get some fat loots and have some fun instead of crying on the forums. Just saying...
