Been looking to make an orc for fun but I never see any of them on, did they go on vacation or quit?

Hahaha, they want RP, not gank fests and trash talking 'elite PvPers' slaughtering them 3v1 and yelling "OWNED!! WHAT NOW?!?!?!", looting their bandages and shitty ringmail, just to piss them off.
Best bet would be to ping chainsoar to drive up the ranks of SvG if you want that style of RP.

Things are no different here now than they were years ago when the Urks were active, other than a larger population.

Population is a matter of perspective. People hammering !status in IRC and asking 'where is everyone' right after that is a pretty clear testament to how little weight that number holds.
Yes, it is UO, but it's also old hat and if they're tired of scrounging for shitty loot only to have it trashbarreled by the same old gank squad, all the while being the only one's actually doing RP......it can get rather boring.
We had a good time for a good while there fighting them with K^A toons and later A^T. That time is gone and someone else will have to start the movement because they're pretty clearly not coming back any time soon, if at all.
