SERVER POP
Please cut house ownership back to 1 char per account. It will help the population also. Honestly pop is fine where it is now IMHO.
ONLY ONE HOUSE PER ACCOUNT!
just consider how cool server would be if only one house per account was allowed. Also give announcement and months time for everyone to take notice of new rules, then IDOCs and server pop will soar.
Right now there is unlimited housing because we all know people have access to more than 3 accts...
If you have any questions please ask here.

No data, just tribal knowledge. As you can see I'm just a common player and don't have access to data like you should. As for proof I'll plead the fifth, GOOD TRY THOUGH!

Re: SERVER POP
I run with the most prominent IDOC group ever... here's my observations to your tirade:
When I first started IDOCing, players with more than 3 accounts were just fine. The biggest IDOC team at the time was Worm/bongy's group. They were 5 or 6 players deep and only bongy cheated because he would store stuff on his brothers account despite them having different IPs. This was never handled because there was 600 or so clients on average and more important things to worry about. The other people I knew who used more than 3 accounts used to just text their friends to log in. They themselves didn't in fact control more than 3 accounts. Except for one, but that follows.
Recently, another IDOC team emerged that offered competition. They didn't last more than 2 weeks because players like notorious and other unnamed social... anomalies... had their accounts banned for using 5-6 per to store houses.
As far as my team goes, none of us are even near 15 houses and we just divvy them up accordingly. The ability to hold a lot of houses is there, but none of us have a necessity to use more than 3 accounts and never have.
I think you've been misguided. There are only a handful of people who regularly use more than 3 accounts via VPN and none of them are game changers. For that reason alone, your vote is moot.

Nice book you wrote there, I guess you are feeling like a target. You aren't a target just saying it would be cooler IMO to have 1 house per account/1 per player.Capitalist wrote:I run with the most prominent IDOC group ever... here's my observations to your tirade:

You backed my point of ppl having 3+ ACCTS which is a huge benefactor to this game. How am I misguided?

You must type slow. Also, not at all. GMs have investigated me to the point of knowing more about my personal life than most of my peers.Kublai Khan wrote: Nice book you wrote there, I guess you are feeling like a target. 1 house per account is NEA, first off. Secondly, that adaptation would ruin this server.
Ironically, you seem to be trying to manipulate my point. I said that there are a few people who use too many accounts, BUT they have no influence. Thus, it's not a huge benefactor. Staff handles all people who create an influence through too many accounts in my experience. You're misguided because whatever "tribal knowledge" you've obtained doesn't support your NEA desire.Kublai Khan wrote: You backed my point of ppl having 3+ ACCTS which is a huge benefactor to this game. Ad hominem because you lack the ability to create a valid point or debate like an adult, and I need to read my post?Kublai Khan wrote:Okay most of us have real lives and don't sit in a chair all day.Capitalist wrote:You must type slow. My bad Vega, I keep forgetting you are a gentlemen and a scholar (see above pic). Just remember this thread wasn't made to get you angry or butthurt. Sorry it did.Capitalist wrote:Ad hominem because you lack the ability to create a valid point or debate like an adult, and I need to read my post?Kublai Khan wrote:Okay most of us have real lives and don't sit in a chair all day.Capitalist wrote:You must type slow. Sorry... but you asked for a proof, it's quite simple no need to dig any logs.
There you go:
5 x 3 x active_accounts > shard_total_houses

Re: SERVER POP
How does this account for someone who refreshes houses for their friends who are on extended leaves? It's a very common trend for people to come and go from the UO scene, keeping their houses refreshed on as many shards as they can - whether or not they have intentions to return soon, later, or never.Denis the Menace wrote:Boomland Jenkins wrote:I'd like to see the data you have for this comment.Right now there is unlimited housing because we all know people have access to more than 3 accts...

Re: SERVER POP
Vega nailed it on the head early on.
1 house per account is NEA. Not. Era. Accurate.
UOSA is all about era accuracy over anything else, even player population or what the players feel or want.
If you do not like the way it is, I would suggest finding a diff server as it will not change and discussing it further is a total waste of time, effort and text.

Re: SERVER POP
Housing is the least of this server's worries.
Have you walked around the world lately?
The vast open land is N.E.A.
We need more people not less houses.
