Hey everyone!

Post by TheScoundrelRico »

Just wanted to pop in and let you know if you see a Rico running around, yes, it's me. I've finally made the time to create a character here. I can't say I am thrilled entirely since the reason I made the switch over here is bacause UOS recently shut down because their developer just could handle the game workload in addition to things in real life. I had thought that would be my last shard, but alas, he had to shut it down before leaving beta. *cries*

With that said, I have enjoyed my time so far even if it is just been me training up my thief skills. Soon enough, I'll be running around the world stealing your loot. I look forward to the upcoming chases. I hope I can provide some fun for you too. :)

I've been very lax in my time in UO over the past year because of real life changes (re-married and started an ezine), so I still haven't the time I used to have, but I hope to have enough time to become the terror I was during my time on Atlantic and Siege. I'll see ya around...la

So far the only thing I was disappointed to find about the server is the lack of disarm thieves, but that's ok. I suppose I'll be able to relearn thieving without my favorite tactic against dexxers...la

Yay, snooping is at 100. On to hiding and stealth. Anyone have tips for stealth? I have it up to 41, at what point should I be adding AR?

It appears the shard has AR added to clothing which is nice, however, boots 1, hat 1, doublet 2...etc. I wonder what others have used to train stealth up to higher levels? I have a feeling stealth should be brought up to GM as opposed to 80, but at what level is stealth allow me to use the skill 100% in leather armor?...la

Welcome Rico

Just do stealth naked until 60, then add an armor piece, leahter chest, etc, something to get you to 10ar, at 80 add some more. Thats how i did it and stealth was done within 2 days.

If you are in need of new player housing, send me a message on here or IRC. I have a house available http://forum.uosecondage.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=23622

Thanks. The beauty of playing a thief primarily is that housing really isn't needed until I get to the point where my skills are trained and I need more storage than the bank provides. I played on Atlantic for years without a house (mainly because there was no space and I only went to IDOCs to find marks) it wasn't until the night of the great fall that I placed on Siege.

If I find I need more storage, I'll let ya know. Thanks again...la

I joined Atl a bit late in the game. I believe it was 2000 or so when I first logged in there. Took me a week of playing before I found my first fel stone on a lizardman corpse. Once I used it, I panicked. Where did all the leaves go, and how are these players attacking me? LOL, I was walking around and bumped into a player who ended up stealing the gold from my pack. I was thrilled, and amazed. I had to make a thief character, and from that point forward, a thief I have been.

I spent numerous hours at Buccs Den disarm stealing, running and hiding with my dial up connection. It was great training for me since having the crappy connection made me learn how to be a great thief. Once I got my first cable connection...I had already made the leap to Siege, but the lessons I had learned while on dial up has allowed me to steal other's property for years. It almost got to the point on the ea shards with ninja and 120 scrolls, where I would go weeks at a time without a single non suicided death (yes, I would kill myself to get rid of perma grey status). I look forward to being killed after a steal again. Nothing beats the rush of a good chase...la

Good to see a name again from multiple places in the past. I bailed from AI after the 2nd wipe and been hanging here since and having fun. Good fortunes to you and, I guess, bad luck to everybody else if they aren't savvy or on their toes.
