Spell wands

Just realized that you can't use (double click) a spell wand with a shield equipped. Is that accurate? I don't recall this at all, though I never used wands too heavily on a dexer. Also, the message is the red text "your hands must be free to cast spells or meditate" alert, which seems illogical to me as I'm doing neither.

I don't recall either way but, if it helps, I did find an old UO webpage at stratics that seemed to imply you could cast spells from scrolls without having to unequip both hands O_o Though I def don't recall that.

I don't know if its accurate or not, but using a wand is actually casting a spell. You are just using the wand to do so. But at the same time wouldn't you having the wand equipped qualify as not having your hands free? But I guess it would be the same as the spellbook...

That's fine. I obviously know how it's operating at the moment. The question was whether or not it should be operating that way at all.
