2 things I observed since I joined

Post by blister »

I remember on OSI I kept my newb instrument for the whole life of my bard, it never broke and wouldn't use the durability

Here you can use it all day long and it wont break but you'll damage it if you use a skill like provocation.

2nd I used to run from britain to minoc a lot and I wasn't loosing my stamina like I do here. I haven't the horses yet so I can't talk about them but I remember gettnig a message because my horse would get tired but unlike I'd fight a macer or get low health my stam wouldnt drop like it does here..

Other than that GJ the shard looks amazing, cant wait to get rolling.

1. Correct. No tool, instrument, or anything like that broke besides mining tools. I've known about this for a little while I just haven't gotten around to mentioning it to Derrick.

2. The current stamina loss system was implemented here not that long ago. The only thing wrong with it currently is that it doesn't take into account on the character's weight like it did back then.

Interesting on the stamina. The T2A demo shows a much sharper/faster stamina drop than we currently have implemented.

The instruments did not break in T2A, this is something that we just haven't getten around to correcting. Look for it soon.

Thanks, and Welcome to Second Age!

stamina definetely dropped at a rapid rate if you were low on HPs. I used to die to liches on my warrior if I wasnt paying attention and tried to run at below 10hps id run out of stamina after only making it half a screen or so. This was evident in pvp as well when someone used to try and run away when redlined they wouldnt make it very far :) Also with running it was actually alot harsher on osi shards then it is currently here. Stamina used to drop faster and faster the further you went. It would start off slow drop but if you kept going and going without resting it would drop faster and faster. There was some sort of rest timer involved as well because you couldnt just stop moving for 1 second then pick back up again without it dropping fast. The demo has this feature in it i beleive. Try the demo and you will see. What is happening here is you still are regaining stamina even while running while on the demo you dont or dont not nearly as much.

As for horses I wish they would be fixed once and for all :P I hate all these pvp runners. They used to tire pretty quick during t2a on osi shards. I remember not even being able to run a complete lap around moonglow fence without my horse running out of stam. After UOR they increased Mount stamina immensely( there is a patch note on this somewhere) which increased the pussiness of the new age UOR pvper even more.

my suggestion was to take the current horse stamina amount which is documented on stratics and either half it or cut it by 1/3 to approximate t2a era mount stamina stats.

Purely an non technical observation, but I always hung out in T2A. I would often ride a mount from Pap to Del. I would always stamina out the mount about halfway through the trek.

Also If I remember, wasn't there a warning message like your mount is getting tired moments before it actually fatigued out?

For that, the fenced in area directly south of Del Bank used to have gates and would grow cabbage. I always had plenty of cabbage from this pen to feed the horse. Here, no gates and no cabbage.

Hope that helps give an idea as to the kind of distance a mount could go.

As an 'on foot orc', I can't wait till Derrick gets the horse and running stamina correct :-)
