Question: DId they cut directly to bandages or cloth first?

To be devils advocate. This is one of those things that would be highly highly abused due to razor here. While it would obviously benefit me to be able to semi-afk farm bandages...I think from a server standpoint it wouldn't be a good implementation.

I suppose. Sheep is slower though. I could set up three characters at a shrine or a random wandering healer and die/res very very quickly. That adds up to a lot of bandages. Either way, before discussing whether its abusive or not, we would need to find out whether its even era accurate.

Here is the line item regarding newbie items from the 9/22/99 patch notes that introduced unraveling into the game:
"Newbie" items and death robes cannot be unraveled.
Since death robes are newbie items, they fell under this rule and could not be cut up.

why dont they stay with you then when u die?

get a char, die, res, repeat. Instead of wearing a robe, and having one in ur pack. you are only wearing a robe.

I remember on osi having my pack full of robes from getting res killed

You can't cut deathrobes for bandages they're newbied. This is era accurate for T2A.

A simple search that takes 1 second yielded this...
Sept. 22nd Publish Sep 22 1999 4:27PM CST
"Newbie" items and death robes cannot be unraveled.

Before posting on suggestions era accuracy forums its advisable to at least check patch notes and read:
