I wonder if there is something you could do with the gem stones, crafting magical jewels or something

hahahaha =P no, I just wondered =P I think that would be a cool thing to have.
for example:

if you have like 100tinkering and ~80magery you may have 1% chanse to craft a magic jewel that give +5, +10, +15, +20 or +25 in a random skill (exept tinkering)

Yea, it might be a neat addition to a gold/time sink, but it won't EVER happen here.

Yeah, I played WOW for like a couple of days off a 14-day trial a year or 2 back and I hated it.

His suggestions remind me of a lot of games, but definitely not the same UO we're playing here. Sounds like those crazy custom neon shards with BLAZE ORE and trash like that.

haha, not exactly.
I've been playing Ultima Online since 2001 on a chard called Neverlands.
back on Neverlands they had these "WoW jewels" which was really neat. there were certen ores that you could mine at 105,110(...and so on...) mining. and if you crafted plate mails of them (ofcourse you had to have 105, 110 BS as well) they gave you extra dex and other abilitis like "drain mana before HP" and stuff like that.

It was actually really nice and it brought tinkering to a whole nnew level.

And for the question: I've tried out WoW for 1week and it was the most boring game I've ever played. And I think I am a way more exepriensed Ultima Online player then you.

This is the dumbest god damn idea I have come across in ages.
I enjoy the game the way it is, it takes skill and not gear like what you want.
Toodles.
