Nope! :>

1) You have one secure container in a small house, it has a weight restriction.

2) You can lock down containers, which removes the weight restriction but is accessible to anybody.

3) Cry plz

Way to bump a hardly day old thread that didn't even call for commentary. You weren't asking a question, you weren't bringing any "information" to the table. Next time make a better post and you'll get responses.

Oh and BTW, leave your "QQs" at the door.

1) Secures are retarded and ruin the point of stealthing into a house or getting a rune + house key.

2)I didn't ask about lockdowns, I know how they work.

3) I will QQ when this is a bit trammelized (yes I know secures were in the end of T2A).

I am new to the forums and will move this to the suggestions, thanks for the replies. Assmunchers.

House secures were introduced during the pre:t2a era in mid '98. There are weight and item limits on all containers besides the bank box. The bank box has unlimited weight and the usual item limit.

Ultima Online: The Second Age (October 1, 1998) featured a new area of land called the Lost Lands, along with an in-game chat system and new creatures. Also known as T2A. It was released in two boxed versions with the first having different artwork and a single manual.

Ultima Online: The Second Age Patch Notes for 11/23/1998

# Housing lockdown.

* Use of a house key on any item (not creature) within the house allows toggling lockdown state IF the owner is the person using the key.
* In the initial implementation, any keyholder is an owner. Once ownership goes in, owners and friends will be able to do lockdown.
* Targeting an item not already locked down will lock down the item if the following conditions are met:
o The item is not adjacent to a door.
o The total number of locked down items on the multiobj does not exceed the set maximum. The maximum depends on the size of the building. Here is a table. The numbers are somewhat approximate, because even though the buildings grouped together are extremely similar, they do vary slightly, and therefore may have one or two more or less lockdowns than described below.
+ Houses with approximately 25 lockdowns and 1 secure:
# Stone and Plaster House
# Field Stone House
# Small Brick House
# Wooden House
# Wood and Plaster House
# Thatched Roof Cottage
# Blacksmith shop
# Clothier shop
# Miller shop
# Pickpocket's Den
# Weapon Training Hut
+ Houses with approximately 86 lockdowns and 4 secures:
# Brick House
# Bakery
# Smithy
# Tailor Shop
+ Houses with approximately 108 lockdowns and 5 secures:
# 2 Story Wood and Plaster House
# 2 Story Stone and Plaster House
+ Houses with approximately 244 lockdowns and 12 secures:
# Tower
+ Houses with approximately 375 lockdowns and 19 secures:
# Small Stone Keep
+ Houses with approximately 577 lockdowns and 29 secures:
# Castle
* Generic items cannot be locked down.
* Items flagged as locked down cannot be chopped with axes.
* Containers that are locked down may become secure. If they are secure, they can only be opened by a keyholder. Again, once ownership goes in, they will only be openable by the owner and friends of the house.
* If the locked-down container count does not exceed the max number of secure containers for the building, the container is made secure. The maximum number of secure containers depends on the building's size.
* Looking at a secure chest will tell you that it is "[secure]"
* The locker is notified that he has created a new secure container, and told how many more his buildings can support.
* If the max number of secure containers has been reached, the container is locked down, but a message is given that it is not a secure container because the building's capacity for secure containers has been reached.
* Targeting a locked down item "unlocks" it so you can move it again. If it was a secure container, it ceases to be secure.

I still associate the t2a era from '99 on. It is true that the lockdowns were introduced during the beginning of t2a, but I highly doubt it will be removed based on the fact that it didn't exist for one month. If this was on the opposite end of the spectrum around one month before the UOR publish I could see this happening, but this existed through well over 90% of the era.

One of the main reasons the Clean Up Britannia system was introduced was because they were going to make items decay inside houses.

I think the system works fine at the moment, locked down containers can be easily looted. Hell, houses can be easily looted.

I think the initial author of this post is merely having trouble successfully looting a house.

See my post above, point 3).

Obviously those houses aren't in the game. And obviously this server isn't up to date with T2A exactly.

I haven't even tried to loot a house yet on this shard, it just blows that there are secures.

Those housing types were taken out of the game very soon after the introduction of the lock down system. Any legacy deeds that still existed would randomly be transformed into one of the newer housing types upon placement of the house. I don't have the exact date of the notes on hand at the moment, but it is a very short period of time between changes. As such, we do not have those deed types available here.

I dont mean to press you on this, but what was their relation to the lock down changes that they were taken out? Did they offer an advantage?
I have seen these house when I played on OSI server, in fact I remember those houses selling for large amounts of gold due to their rare status. I also remember seeing quite a few on chessy, in alot of the old RP blessed towns.

These house types were removed when player crafted house add-ons were introduced. Forges, Spinning wheels etc.

They were essentailly the same as existing house types, but with fixed addons in place.
